Syed’s current interests are in meshing healthcare with financial technology. These stem from his passions of medicine and computer science.

Syed had early intrigue in technology and web/software development. His hobbies were the development of numerous websites and software applications.

Syed is a board certified anesthesiologist. He graduated cum laude with a bachelors of science degree at the University of Connecticut with a major in Physiology and Neurobiology and a minor in Neuroscience. He received his medical doctorate degree from the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. He completed his anesthesiology residency at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine where he received the Ralph M. Tovell Award for Academic Excellence. Subsequently, he completed a Acute Pain and Regional Anesthesiology fellowship with Charter Anesthesiology. Currently, he is a staff attending with Charter Anesthesiology and treats patients in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Hawaii.

Syed has strong interests in travel journalism and humanitarianism.

Syed created Brown Meets World to document his journey meeting and interviewing individuals from various parts of the world who are affected by current events.
